My ZUMBA class consists of Latin, hip-hop, pop, 80s jams, country, belly-dancing, West African, broadway -- well just about any kind of dance. I choreograph the majority of the routines to include ranges of skill level and intensity. There is something for EVERYONE in my class.

The class has been structured following the principals of interval training. Interval training consists of repeating sessions of relatively high intensity exercise mixed with periods of lower intensity and some toning. It's GREAT for the beginner or for the advanced exerciser.

ZUMBA is fun, easy and you'll be sweating before you know it!

Please wear comfortable active clothing that is not restrictive and allows appropriate cooling for thermoregulation of the body.

Also, wear comfortable shoes, with plenty of cushion and lateral support. Typically, an aerobics shoe or cross-trainer is appropriate.

AND WATER!!! We'll be taking 30 second water breaks after every 4 songs. Trust me, you'll need the water. Staying hydrated during class is very helpful.

this week in ZUMBA

ZUMBA MUSIC THIS WEEK:
• Monday and Wednesday: hip-hop / R&B / pop
• Tuesday: Latin / Indian

GLOW STICKS!

I picked up some glow sticks over the weekend. I thought it would be fun to wear while we are danicng in the disco lights! Look for 'em Monday!

I NEED YOU!
Scott Fitness is going to be participating in the June Fit 'N' Fun Event at the Power and Light District, focusing on getting children involved in fun exercise.

The event starts at noon on Saturday, June 20.

I'll be doing ZUMBA at 1p.

I need some volunteers to come out and do a little 20-30 mini ZUMBA class with me. We will be positioned right in front of the main stage at the KC Live Block on floor in front of the stage. We'll be facing the kids, so I need you guys behind me so it'll be easier for them to follow along.

Yes... it was bright because we had our glow sticks. New faces because the Peanut Gallery has been MIA! If you're gone a new person will snag your spot.
