My ZUMBA class consists of Latin, hip-hop, pop, 80s jams, country, belly-dancing, West African, broadway -- well just about any kind of dance. I choreograph the majority of the routines to include ranges of skill level and intensity. There is something for EVERYONE in my class.

The class has been structured following the principals of interval training. Interval training consists of repeating sessions of relatively high intensity exercise mixed with periods of lower intensity and some toning. It's GREAT for the beginner or for the advanced exerciser.

ZUMBA is fun, easy and you'll be sweating before you know it!

Please wear comfortable active clothing that is not restrictive and allows appropriate cooling for thermoregulation of the body.

Also, wear comfortable shoes, with plenty of cushion and lateral support. Typically, an aerobics shoe or cross-trainer is appropriate.

AND WATER!!! We'll be taking 30 second water breaks after every 4 songs. Trust me, you'll need the water. Staying hydrated during class is very helpful.

this week in ZUMBA

I'm sorry to announce that Wednesday, August 1st will be my last day instructing the Monday and Wednesday night's Zumba class.

I've been with theGYMkc (formally Scott Fitness) for nearly FIVE years! I've enjoyed EVERY class and the relationships I've formed.

My husband and I are moving to Miami for new adventures. I'll miss my Zumba family (that's YOU guys) the MOST!

Zumba classes will continue with JaCory.

Some of you may remember JaCory in class awhile ago. He is a certified Zumba instructor and he's been teaching at Gold's Gym. I've worked with JaCory and I highly recommended him as my replacement.

You'll see JaCory popping into class during the month of June and he'll be instructing part of class.

In the meantime our Zumba class will continue as regularly scheduled.

On my last day, Wednesday, August 1st, we'll walk over to Manny's for margaritas! If anyone makes me cry you're gonna get a punch in the arm.
